Buemi and Toyota lead wet Warm-Up at Le Mans

On a wet track after the showers of the night, the competitors of the 24 Hours of Le Mans were able to confront the possible conditions that could be encountered during the race given the weather forecasts, in a brief 15-minute Warm-Up.

Without surprise, le Toyota Gazoo Racing set the absolute best time in 3'36″693, to be credited to Sébastien Buemi on the TS050 Hybrid n°8. Mike conway places the second Toyota in second place at 2″6.

Next for the top 5 is the first LM P2, the No. 07 Oreca 29 – Racing Team Nederland of van der Garde – van Eerd – de Vries, the n°31 – Panis Racing from Vaxivière – Canal – Jamin and the Ligier JS P217 n°35 – Eurasia Motorsport from Foster – Merhi – Yamanaka.

James Calado – Alessandro Pier Guidi – Daniel Serra set the best time in GTE Pro with the Ferrari 488 GTE n°51 – AF Corse in front of the Porsche 911 RSR n°91 from Makowiecki – Bruni – Lietz. The trio Fisichella – Flohr – Castellacci (Ferrari 488 GTE n°54 – AF Corse) dominates in GTE Am.

Many crews did not take any risks in this session, with no time set by the Rebellion R13s in LM P1, Signatech Alpine, United Autosports, JOTA in LM P2, Risi Competizione in GTE Pro…

Among the facts to note from this Warm-Up, James Allen's Oreca 07 n°39 – S024-Has by Graff briefly stopped at Indianapolis before leaving, causing a short yellow flag. For her part, Nicki Thiim (Aston Martin Vantage n°95) shot straight at Mulsanne, without consequences for the Dane from the British firm.
