Failed from WEC for the 2022 season, the ByKolles structure does not despair of an entry into Hypercar in 2023. Scheduled to be ready on time for the second round of the season at Spa-Francorchamps (May 8), the Austro-Romanian LMH is is unveiled in the colors of the team's new sponsor: Vanwall. A name which brings us back to the very first manufacturer officially world champion of Formula 1In 1958.

The reuse of this historic name was not without raising some questions, even if it concerns Vanwall Racing here, whose logo is different from the original one. A derivative of this historic name which did not facilitate the study of a file ultimately refused by the promoters of the WEC. While waiting for a potential entry next year, the team will focus on testing in 2022 with its drivers Tom Dillman and Esteban Guerrieri.

"A derivative of this historical name (Vanwall) which did not facilitate the study of a file ultimately refused by the promoters of the WEC" This is the problem, in the regulations, a Hypercar MUST be directly associated with a manufacturer with a storefront, which in this specific case is absolutely not the case. We can deplore it, but the ball is in the ACO's court, it agrees to modify the eligibility criteria, or not.
