Chaunac: “A lot of pressure”

Oreca arrives this season with greater ambitions than in 2009. This season, the Var team was able to equip itself with a Peugeot 908 HDi FAP, the car that won last year. From then on, the Signes team has a greater chance of showing itself at the forefront, even if this association brings a lot of pressure within the French team.

In addition, the president of Oreca affirms that this choice of the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP is justified by a sporting motivation. Even if the Signes team is proud of the work accomplished on the Oreca 01, the “house” car, the 908 represents a hope of victory. “ We realized last year that to claim victory at Le Mans we had to use diesel technology and we sealed a partnership with Peugeot to run the 908 this year. History has it that it was during the Petit Le Mans event, over coffee with Olivier Quesnel, that the idea took shape. We are integrated into the Peugeot system benefiting from the latest engine or aerodynamic developments developed by Peugeot Sport. »
