Corvette unveils the livery of its C7.R for Shanghai

It is rare that the official Corvettes lined up in competition are not yellow. But it won't be a first. In 2003, to celebrate the brand's 50th anniversary, the two C5-Rs lined up at the 24 Hours of Le Mans presented a predominantly navy blue dress. Furthermore, when this same C5-R debuted in competition on the other side of the Atlantic in 1999, it also gave pride of place to gray and black.

Gray will also be used at the 6 Hours of Shanghai (November 18), fifth round of the WEC 2018-2019, with a “Redline” livery whose aim is to promote the upcoming arrival of a special edition in China, the second largest market in the world for Chevrolet after the United States.

This appearance should allow Corvette Racing to end its 20th year of competition in style, which saw it win a 13th Team title on the American continent, ALMS and IMSA SportsCar Championship combined. In China, the C7.R will sport the number 64 and will be entrusted to the Briton Oliver Gavin and the American Tommy Milner.
