David Cheng: “Aware of the stakes”

With an Asian title Le Mans Series obtained under the colors of Oak Racing Team Asia in 2014, David Cheng founded his own team last year, which he called DC Racing. Team that became, at the end of January, the first winner of the LM P3 in the Asian series organized by the ACO.

Last year, in ELMS and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, he joined forces with Pegasus Racing. But in 2016, the Beijing native decided to move to the next level, playing the entire WEC. To support him in his new adventure, he reached an agreement with Signatech Alpine. " This is a very important year for Baxi DC Racing Alpine, underlines David Cheng. We will now play in the big leagues. We are aware of the sporting issue but we are confident about the quality and solidity of our association with Alpine and Signatech. I am very proud to be part of the team Alpine. It's a top team and its results over the past three years demonstrate it. »

If the A460 n°35 will defend the colors of the Middle Kingdom well, it will no less be exploited by the men of the Philippe Sinault-Didier Calmels duo, double champions on the European scene and who now dream of a world title. “ We talked a lot with Rémy Brouard (team manager of DC Racing. Editor's note), Philippe Sinault and his entire team on the role and expectations of each person in order to put the right people in the right positions, He continues. The objective is, above all, to be efficient. Signatech Alpine has extensive experience inEndurance. It's very pleasant to work alongside them. »

David Cheng will also be able to count on the support of his friend Jackie Chan. The presence of the actor at his side did not fail to make people talk, as much in Europe as in the United States and in Asia. To the Baxi DC Racing entity Alpine to now be talked about through its results in an LM P2 category that is tougher than ever. But with a trio associating David Cheng with Nelson Panciatici and Ho-Pin Tung, she has reason to believe it.

As a reminder, the liveries of the two Alpine A460 will be unveiled on Thursday March 24, the day before the first day of the Prologue.
