David Coulthard causes controversy with Endurance

David Coulthard didn't just make friends by comparing the F1 withEndurance on his Twitter account. The old pilot Red Bull seems to have quite strong opinions on the two disciplines by summarizing the Single-seater Championship as pure attack while the long events are more about management according to the Scot.

“Drivers should be in qualifying mode from lights out to checkered flag with a dash of management”, wrote David Coulthard. “If not, let them go do 24-hour races. I respect these events, but they are not the same problems or the same commitment compared to the sprint approach of F1 for the drivers. »

These remarks particularly caused André Lotterer, 2012 world champion of WEC and triple winner at 24 Hours of Le Mans with Audi. “You're right, it's not the same thing. We attack and engage for 24 hours. Doesn't Lewis walk around for 1 hour 50 minutes? », retorted the German. “I’ll let you tell Lewis.” You know what I meant. F1 should be fought hard and the 24 Hours of Le Mans historically have more unforeseen events”, replied David Coulthard.
