This is one of the big new features of this 2025 season of the World Championship.Endurance : Cadillac is now teaming up with Hertz Team JOTA to field not one, but two V-Series.Rs in the Hypercar category.
A collaboration that started off rather well, with a one-two finish on Friday evening during the second four-hour Prologue session. Alex Lynn set the benchmark at the wheel of the No. 12 in 1:39.575, ahead of Sébastien Bourdais on #38 by 0.213 seconds.
« We all worked together for the first time, and it has worked very well so far, said Will Stevens, Lynn and Norman Nato's teammate on the No. 12. It’s a positive start to the week. We left the truck with a good race car and I feel comfortable with everything we have at the moment. It’s still early in the race week. We have a lot to cover in this Prologue and then we’ll have some time before the start of next week to analyze everything. All six of us have similar feedback, and that’s a positive: we’re going in the same direction. »
Sébastien Bourdais: “A promising start”
Same story from the sister car with Sébastien Bourdais. It was the first time we had the #38 with Jenson (Button), Earl (Bamber) and I, and our engineering group together. The first time ever. Is it perfect? No. Do we have work to do? Yes. But with the Prologue, we have plenty of time to learn and follow the test programme so we are ready for next week. Overall, I would say it is a promising start. »
Of course, the results of the Prologue should be taken with caution, given that it is difficult to know the programs of each manufacturer. Cadillac and Hertz Team JOTA will have to confirm in the race on Friday, February 28, during the 1812 km of Qatar, the first round of this 2025 season of the WEC.
