Peugeot double at the 24 Hours of Le Mans!

After more than 23 hours of racing, the cars are now in the final straight of the legendary Sarthe race.

Peugeot double at the 24 Hours of Le Mans!

15:13 p.m.: those whom Olivier Quesnel had nicknamed “the warriors” therefore triumphed where the crew of the Peugeot No. 8, started on pole and was able to quickly distance himself

15:11 p.m.: the Marseillaise resonates in the stands of the Sarthe circuit! Spectators flock to the pit line to watch the trophies being presented on the podium.

15:03 p.m.: It's a total party in the stand of the French Peugeot teams, but also Oreca. Hugues de Chaunac's team managed to put the No. 11 car in fifth position, something that was not obvious at the start. As for the French manufacturer, it finally triumphs after two years when it saw Audi take first place from it.

15:01 p.m.: Peugeot wins 24 Hours of Le Mans ! Double for the lion team with the 908 HDi FAP n°9 and n°8

14:58 p.m.: the flags wave as the three Peugeot 908 HDi FAP pass to salute their success

14:56 p.m.: abandonment ofAston Martin Vantage is official, so it will not have officially finished these 24 hours of racing

14:55 p.m.: the Audi R15 TDi takes no risks to overtake the Porsche RS Spyder from the Essex team and joins the n°1 taking his time

14:52 p.m.: Beaten by the Audi R10s in 2007 and 2008, the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP will finally win on the Sarthe circuit

14:50 p.m.: the three Peugeots (n°9, n°8, n°7) are still together: they will finish in first, second and sixth place respectively

14:45 p.m.: the two Audi R15s have also regrouped

14:42 p.m.: everyone prepares for the finish; the No. 6 Corvette C63R, which leads the LMGT1 category standings, is being pampered by Corvette Racing engineers

14:32 p.m.: pit stop for Nicolas Minassian (Peugeot 908 n°7, 6th)

14:30 p.m.: Marc Gene (Peugeot 908 n°9), leading the 24 Hours of Le Mans, made a final pit stop

14:29 p.m.: mix-up at Audi, a cable got stuck in an element of the engine hood

14:27 p.m.: Bourdais (Paugeot 908 n°8, 2nd) in the pits, the Audi R15 n°1 too. Bourdais leaves without incident

14:25 p.m.: Hugues de Chaunac says he is very stressed to know if Oreca will be able to count on fifth place in the No. 11. Indeed, the Peugeot n°7 of Nicolas Minassian is moving back at full speed, gaining almost ten seconds per lap from its predecessor.

14:22 p.m.: asked about his presence in 2010 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Wolgang Ullrich, boss of Audi Motorsport, declared that he “did not know” but that he “had the will”.

14:21 p.m.: back in the pits, the Lola Aston Martin n°008 can relaunch on the track

14:14 p.m.: the safety car has finally released the drivers, who set off again for 40 minutes of racing

14:07 p.m.: The safety car entered the track, a lot of oil having spilled onto the track following the abandonment of the Lola Mazda.

14:03 p.m.: the #39 Lola Mazda, driven by Hideki Noda, which stopped at the entrance to the pit straight. Heavy smoke then emerged from under the hood, with the engine starting to catch fire.
