Dries Vanthoor will replace René Rast at Fuji

As planned and previously announced in the columns of AUTOhebdo No. 2375, it is Dries Vanthoor who will accompany Sean Gelael and Robin Frijns on the No. 07 Oreca 31 of Team WRT at the 6 Hours of Fuji (September 11), theater of the 5^e round of the season WEC.

Due to a clash of dates, René Rast will not be able to hold his place during the Japanese event next September. Engaged in DTM, the German, who is vegetating at the 3^e place of the championship 10 lengths behind leader Mirko Bortolotti, will be selected for Spa-Francorchamps for the 6th^e test of the 2022 campaign.

René will compete in the clashing DTM event at Spa-Francorchamps on 10-11 September instead, and he will be replaced in the #31 car by Dries Vanthoor.

Faced with this imbroglio, the choice of Team WRT logically fell on Dries Vanthoor, driver of the house in GT World Challenge Europe in particular but also in prototype. The Belgian has indeed played the last 24 Hours of Le Mans on the No. 32 for a 15th overall at the finish.
