Dumas on guard under the pedal

Romain, how did this qualifying session go?
We did relays, Timo (Bernahrd) and I. As we don't have much experience with the car, we mainly had to turn and test the car in the dry and at night. The conditions were good, which we had not had the day before. We therefore focused on driving in a racing version, with maximum fuel, without looking for performance.

How do you compare to the competition?
It's hard to say. For us, the qualification? was not important. As we were not looking for performance, we cannot say where we stand. But I think we?re not too bad?

How many seconds can you gain per lap?
Oh, quite a few seconds I think. We kept some on hand.

However, we saw that Audi n°1 went for the best time mid-session?
Yes, but that was not the objective of the evening. Allan (McNish) put on a set of new tires to set a time. But it was not important to then lose pole.

Do you think that Peugeot kept less margin than you?
I don't know. For the moment, they seem a step above us. What is certain is that they really wanted pole. They were breaking sets of tires to get the time!

Do you know which relay you will occupy in the race?
Yes, it was already defined before qualifying. It's Alexandre (Prémat) who will leave first, then Timo, and me in third.
