Duval: “I have never been so motivated”

After nine years at Audi, are the emotions felt when arriving here comparable to those of a child changing schools?

I would liken it more to that of a child at Christmas, in that it was more excitement than apprehension. Despite the experience ofEndurance which is mine, I was full of enthusiasm when I arrived this morning. But in reality you have to quickly put that aside to get to the heart of the matter and get to work.

Have you already had the opportunity to come here to Satory?

Yes. When I was in Formula E, I had discussions with DS. I had the right to a little visit…

How does it feel to see these facilities go into mode? Le Mans ?

We already have a little idea of what this will look like. At all levels, the project is still in its infancy. But it's great to see that the group is giving itself the means to achieve its ambitions, including major work, which proves that they have long-term plans.

What made you most happy?

I imagined something before coming, and I was immediately reassured by the motivation and involvement of the entire team. What did me a lot of good was to see that it was a structure with a human dimension, which allows us to establish links with each person and each profession. There are the resources of a factory, extraordinary know-how with an enormous heritage, but the team is focused, which allows us to be close to the people. It reminds me of Oreca. This notion of team, of group, I attach a lot of importance to it.
