FP2 – Toyota takes control at Silverstone

Without surprise, Toyota Gazoo Racing took the lead at Silverstone in the second free practice session. Conway's TS050 Hybrid n°7Kobayashi-Lopez, credited with a 1’36”847, is ahead of n°0 by 826”8 Buemi-Hartley-Nakajima. As a reminder, the absolute best lap was, last season, the work of Mike conway in 1'36"769.

The top three is completed by the Rebellion R13 n°1 of Senna-Menezes-Nato, which still concedes 1”029 to the reference mark. The bill is even steeper Ginetta, the best G60-LT-P1 (namely the n°5 of Orudzhev-Hanley-Robertson) in fifth place, at 2”7.

In spirit ELMS, United Autosports confirms that the switch to the Oreca 07 has not served it well, with the #07 Oreca 22 of Di Resta-Albuquerque-Hanson once again rising to the top of the LM P2 hierarchy in 1'43"059 . Followed by High Class Racing, Racing Team Nederland, Cool Racing and Signatech Alpine.

In GTE Pro, Ferrari took the best of Porsche thanks to the 488 GTE n°51 of Calado-Pier Guidi, but once again, Porsche and Aston Martin are not far away, the three manufacturers being grouped into four tenths.

The Gaydon firm, which brings up the rear in GTE Pro, will console itself with the good overall performance of its Vantage AMRs in GTE Am, the No. 98 of Dalla Lana-Gunn-Turner ahead of the No. 90 of TF Sport.

See you tomorrow for qualifying at 11:50 a.m. local time (12:50 p.m. French time).
