While Toyota n°7 had logically set the best time in the second free practice session at the 8 Hours of Bahrain, the n°8 finished third at the top of the timesheet thanks to a time of 1'43"557.
Kazuki Nakajima nevertheless performed a spin on a track offering very little grip. But the sister car was penalized even more since it had to observe a five-minute Stop&Go at the start of the session due to overtaking under a yellow flag during FP2.
The No. 07 Oreca 37 of Jackie Chan DC Racing (Aubry-Stevens-Tung) took the lead in LM P2. It precedes the No. 22 of United Autosports (Hanson-Di Resta-Albuquerque) and theAlpine A470 n°36 (Laurent-negrao-Ragues).
In GTE Pro, after Aston Martin yesterday and Ferrari this morning it is Porsche which signs the reference brand of these EL2 thanks to the 911 RSR-19 n°92 of Christensen-Lietz. The outgoing champions stuck by almost a second to their closest pursuers, namely the No. 95 Aston Martin Vantage AMR and the No. 488 Ferrari 51 GTE Evo.
Finally, the No. 98 Vantage AMR (Dalla Lana-Gunn-Lamy) ruled the roost in GTE Am, where the top three is completed by the No. 488 Ferrari 83 GTE Evo (Perrodo-Collard-Nielsen) and the Porsche 911 RSR n°77 (Olsen-Ried-Pera).
