Emmanuel Collard joins Corvette

His contract Porsche not having been renewed, Emmanuel Collard found refuge at Pratt&Miller, official Corvette representative in ALMS and in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. At 38 years old, the Frenchman, delighted, takes the place left vacant by the Swiss Marcel Fässler who left for Audi and will try to secure a second Le Mans victory in the GT2 category after that acquired in 2003 in a Porsche 911 GT3-RS.

“The Corvette C5 and C6 were the benchmarks in the GT1 category for ten years, and the new GT2 seems to be heading in the same direction. I hope that my experience in the category acquired in recent years will help the team to triumph in these three major events.

In addition to the 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 12 and 13, Manu Collard's program will include the 12 Hours of Sebring on March 19 and 20, and the Petit Le Mans on the Road Atlanta circuit at the beginning of October. The winner of the 2005 and 2006 LMS will join Olivier Beretta and Oliver Gavin for the occasion in the seat of the No. 6 Corvette C1 ZR64, the sister car being entrusted to Jan Magnussen, Antonio Garcia and Johnny O'Connell, winners of the GT1 category at Le Mans last year.
