Crews modified at Aston Martin for the end of the year

There will be change in the clan Aston Martin for the end of the year in the World ChampionshipEndurance (WEC). From the third meeting of the 2018-19 Super Season at Silverstone (August 17-19), the official team will return to two drivers by Vantage in the GTE Pro category, while it had fielded three drivers at Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium) and Le Mans (Sarthe).

On No. 95, the experienced Darren turner is temporarily laid off, and will leave the Danish pair Nicki Thiim-Marco Sorensen to defend the interests of the British brand. Incorporated within Prodrive (the entity responsible for Aston Martin's commitment to Endurance) for 14 years, Darren Turner has however taken the opportunity to sign a new contract concerning WEC racing activities, but also the development of road and competition vehicles.

The No. 97 will see Alex Lynn and Maxime Martin do battle in the GTE Pro category. Johnny Adam finds refuge in the stable TF Sport in GTE Am class and will accompany Salih Yoluc and Charlie Eastwood during the trips to SIlverstone, Fuji (Japan, October 12-14) and Shanghai (China, November 16-18).

These changes will allow the remaining drivers to have more driving time and make fewer compromises in the driving position. “It is crucial to maximize the opportunities presented to us with these three races, which will be the shortest of the WEC season”, says Paul Howarth, Team Principal of Aston Martin Racing.

Aston Martin Racing has confirmed it will return to its old driver trio from the 1 Miles of Sebring (Florida, March 000) in spring 15, until the 24 Hours of Le Mans, conclusion of the Super Season.
