Famin: “This day is essential”

The great Le Mans circuit is unique, and unlike any other. Therefore, there is no need to specify how important this test day is for the different protagonists of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 79th edition of which will take place on June 11 and 12. At the house of Peugeot Sport, the decision was therefore made to make the trip with the three new 908s powered by the V8 HDi FAP, to collect as much information as possible on this Sunday, April 24. Each car will have a very specific program, and the nine drivers will take turns at the wheel of the three cars during the day.

“We ride on circuits which reproduce aspects that we find at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but none are completely equivalent to the Sarthe track, explains Bruno Famin, Technical Director of Peugeot Sport. Being able to carry out this day of testing is essential when we enter a new car, as is the case this year. The dismantling of the Peugeot 908s after Sebring was instructive. Since then, we have continued our roadmap by carrying out test sessions in Monza, Castellet and Aragón. For the day of April 24, the three cars will have programs defined around three themes: tires, aero and mechanical set-up. »

So there's no question of getting lost with it.HYbrid4. On April 24, the entire Peugeot Sport team will have the sole objective, and not the least, of preparing for the big deadline in mid-June.
