Farfus strengthens NorthWest AMR with Dalla Lana

A new team is making its appearance in the World Endurance Championship, in the GTE Am category. The NorthWest AMR will enter a Aston Martin Vantage in 2021, with one hell of a top driver, Augusto Farfus.

The Brazilian, who will also combine the Pure ETCR with Hyundai and racesIMSA with BMW in GTLM, will be assisted by boss-driver Paul Dalla Lana and Marcos Gomes.

“I really enjoyed driving the Vantage with Paul last year at Spa and Le Mans, explains the double winner of the 24 Hours of Daytona in GTLM (2019, 20). Paul is a great teammate, passionate about his racing and eager to win, while Marcos has proven how fast he is. This year's GTE Am class will be the most competitive in the WEC and we will have to fight for every point.", he warns.

Canadian Paul Dalla Lana, GTE Am champion in 2017 in the old V8 Vantage, will begin his ninth season in the discipline. “I have enjoyed great success with Aston Martin Racing over the last nine years and winning the title in 2017 in Bahrain was undoubtedly the highlight, confirms Paul Dalla Lana. However, I still have unfinished business at Le Mans and I believe we now have the best package of cars, teams and drivers to finally get our first win at Le Mans. »

As for Marcos Gomes, he will discover the world level with an Asian title Le Mans Series in GT with HubAuto Corsa. “It has been a long-standing ambition of mine to compete in the WEC. I haven't driven the Vantage GTE yet and I'm looking forward to trying it at Spa, but it proved how competitive it is last year in the WEC. »
