Ferrari confirms Bruni's departure and Pier Guidi's promotion

During the reveal of the crews for the 2017 season of WEC, a name was missing on the Ferrari 488 GTE n°51 to support James Calado. As we have been explaining for several months, the story between Gianmaria Bruni and the trans brandalpine was going to end, the Roman being expected near home Porsche Motorsport.

The officialization of the end of this golden period for the Bruni-Ferrari duo, which began in 2007 and marked by three victories in GT at Le Mans, and two category titles in WEC was recorded this weekend and will take effect in June.

At the same time and on the sidelines of the Competizione GT ceremony, Ferrari confirmed the arrival of Alessandro Pier Guidi in the GTE Pro category this year, to drive the 488 operated by AF Corse in the WEC and therefore in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Accustomed to GT3 events with the achievements of the prancing horse brand (with victories in Pro-Am at the 24 Hours of Spa in 2012 and 2015, or at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2014), Pier Guidi will join with the status of official driver of his teammate James Calado to compete in the 2017 season.

The two men already know each other having competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans last year alongside Gianmaria Bruni.
