The France Télévisions Group has extended the agreement with the ACO to continue to broadcast the 24 Hours of Le Mans the next four years, from 2017 to 2020. The French public channel will extend coverage of the 85th edition held on June 17 and 18 by offering more than 15 hours of live broadcast. The race will notably be broadcast at night on France 3, just like the finish. The departure will be followed on France 2.

“We welcome the renewal of the partnership with France Télévisions for the broadcast, on free channels, of the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the next four years,” declared Pierre Fillon, president of the ACO.

“France Télévisions has been a long-standing partner and having such coverage of our legendary race on the channels of France’s leading audiovisual group is a real satisfaction. We are working to develop our television audience nationally, in Europe and around the world for our partners as well as fans of motorsport, and especially endurance. The renewal of this agreement confirms our desire and demonstrates the notoriety of our event, but also the interest shown in it by television channels., added Pierre Fillon.

“We are very proud to continue, for four more years, our historic partnership with the ACO for the free-to-air broadcast of this emblematic and unmissable motorsport event that is the 24 Hours of Le Mans., added Laurent-Éric Le Lay, the sports director of France TV. More than ever, this legendary race has its place within the largest sporting field that constitutes the antennas and digital offers of the France Télévisions Group! From this year, we will devote significantly increased air time to broadcasting the race and we will enrich the coverage of the event thanks to our digital offering and in particular the new formats developed for social networks. »
