Gachnang with a crutch at Le Mans

Natacha Gachnang, seven weeks after her accident during qualifying for the opening round of the GT1 World Championship in Abu Dhabi (see video), appeared at Le Mans for the technical and administrative checks of the 24 Hours race. If the young woman has recovered from her double tibia fracture? fibula, she still had to rely on a crutch to relieve her right leg.

« I did everything possible to recover and make sure I was here, she says to Le Mans.org. It was not easy, far from it. I got behind the wheel for the first time last Thursday (in Zolder, editor's note). The experience went well even if everything is not yet back to normal. I still walk with a crutch but generally speaking, I am quite happy with the progress. For this first participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, our wish is above all to reach the finish. If so, why not imagine bringing a Ford GT to the podium. »

Natacha Gachnang will be associated with Cyndie Allemann and Rahel Frey in one of the two Ford GTs from the Swiss Matech Compétition team. They will make up the first 100% female crew at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 19 years.
