Ginetta unveils the G60-LT-P1 LM P1

It was during the Birmingham show in England that Ginetta lifted the veil on its new LM P1, which will compete in the 2018-2019 season. WEC. Code name: G60-LT-P1. Developed under the leadership of Ewan Baldry, the technical director of the British firm, the car was the result of work jointly carried out by Adrian Reynard and Paolo Catone, to whom we owe in particular the Peugeot 908 Hdi FAP.

« I am delighted to finally be able to reveal our latest creation to you, underlines Ginetta boss Lawrence Tomlinson. And what better timing than the year of the 60e anniversary of the company. LM P1 will be a serious competitor in the World ChampionshipEndurance and Le Mans. We have a great engineering and design team in Leeds who have been able to work on this project with quality partners and I can’t wait to show you what this LM P1 is capable of on the track. »

This is the second latest generation non-hybrid LM P1 to have been unveiled after the BR1, CLM P1/01 already plaguing competition for a long time now. The model presented this morning already sports the colors of TRS Manor Racing, the first – and today only – team to have placed an order. As a reminder, the John Booth-Graeme Lowdon duo does not refrain from lining up a second copy.

Visually, the G60-LT-P1 looks very similar to the designs that had already been presented. Under the hood, we find the supercharged 6l V3,4 designed by Mécachrome and derived from the block which will debut this season in F2. But the car will be able to accommodate other engines, of different architecture.
