Ginetta dominates EL1 in Bahrain

The result of the first free practice session of the 8 Hours of Bahrain, fourth round of the WEC 2019-2020, meets expectations. And for good reason, less penalized than its rivals by the Success Handicap governing the category, Team LNT made the talk. And again, plagued by technical problems, the No. 6 Dyson-Smith-Simpson Ginetta only completed 15 laps.

Thanks to a time of 1'44"791, the Ginetta G60 LT P1-AER n°5 of Charlie Robertson-Ben Hanley-Jordan King climbed to the top of the timesheet and is ahead by 2"1 and 2 »6 the Rebellion R13 n°1 of Nato-Menezes-Senna and the Toyota TS050 Hybrid n°8 Buemi-Hartley-Nakajima.

In LM P2, as usual, United Autosports dominates the competition with its No. 07 Oreca 22 entrusted to Hanson-Albuquerque-Di Resta. Followed by Cool Racing, Racing Team Nederland and Signatech Alpine.

Porsche dominates the GTE Pro by placing its two 911 RSR-19s in the first two rows, the No. 91 of Bruni-Lietz preceding the No. 92 of Christensen-Estre. Both Ferrari 488 GTE EVO from AF Corse are not far away, while the Aston Martin Vantage AMR are currently ahead of the two best competitors in GTE Am, namely… the #90 Aston Martin from TF Sport and the #911 Porsche 88 RSR from Dempsey-Proton Racing.

The second free practice session for the 8 Hours of Bahrain is scheduled for 16:30 p.m. French time.
