Ginetta explains the CEFC TRSM package in Spa

The LM P1 peloton for the 6 Hours of Spa was reduced before the start of the Spa-Francorchamps event continued package for the two Ginetta G60-LT-P1s from CEFC TRSM Racing. An absence explained by the manufacturer Ginetta in person in a press release.

“It is with great disappointment that we must announce that Ginetta will not be fielding the two LM P1s that successfully raced at the Paul Ricard Prologue earlier this month. Unfortunately, the promised funds did not arrive from TRS to CEFC TRSM Racing.

The funds needed for Ginetta have been long overdue and while we understand that TRS has worked with its sponsors to resolve the issues, Ginetta cannot allow the cars to race. Ginetta remains committed to working with CEFC TRSM Racing on this program.

We are aware that CEFC TRSM Racing has visited TRS on several occasions in China and can also confirm that TRS has visited Ginetta three times recently, the last time to attend a royal visit.

We have been informed by TRS that the current situation is a short term cash flow issue and that key funds are in place for payment before Le Mans »

“We are in a situation where a UK-based team with strong skill as well as two LM P1s with confirmed and fully paid commitments for the 2018-2019 Super-Season (including two appearances at Le Mans in 2018 and 2019) are unable to run simply because funds are not flowing through. » adds Lawrence Tomlinson, president of Ginetta.

Hopes therefore remain high to see the two LM P1 prototypes in Sarthe next month with confirmed drivers Dean Stoneman – Léo Roussel – Charlie Robertson and Oliver Rowland – Alex Brundle – Oliver Turvey.
