Glickenhaus confirms his interest in Le Mans

Team Cameron Glickenhaus, who confirmed a few months ago his intention to be present in WEC from the 2020-2021 season (see Ah n°2176), continues its expansion. The American entity has just formalized the start of construction on a new factory in Connecticut, where the 004 and 006 will be designed.

But above all, the eponymous boss took the opportunity to say more about his project Le Mans. If it sees the light of day, the Glickenhaus 007s will be assembled in the SCG racing premises, based in Turin, Italy. Under the hood, according to what the person concerned confided to our American colleagues from Racer, we would find an engine of General Motors origin, coupled to a KERS whose origin is still unknown, especially since the regulations on this point have not yet been completely defined. Cars that could be convertible into a production car…and therefore use public roads. But this would involve changing the engine. Not simple in short.

The whimsical boss, ex-film producer, aims to field two 007s during the 2020-2021 season of the World Championship.Endurance. More information is expected to be officially communicated in the coming days.
