Glickenhaus reveals new images of its SCG 007 Hypercar

Toyota et Aston Martin will fill the ranks of the new Hypercar category for the World Endurance Championship (WEC) 2020-21 as well as 24 Hours of Le Mans 2021. But a small American trainer is building its own vehicle for the Sarthois double clock tower: the Team Cameron Glickenhaus (SCG).

James Glickenhaus, at the origin of this project launched publicly in the summer of 2018, shared new 3D images of his car on social networks. Compared to previous images, we note a deeply reworked rear stern, as well as a modified cockpit bubble.

The rich enthusiast also confirmed the sale of this vehicle to private teams as well as to ordinary motorists (for a very large check). As we announced to you exclusively in an interview in issue 2222 of AUTOhebdo, James Glickenhaus plans to field his SCG 007 Hypercars under his own banner at Le Mans.

« We will register with Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus. The entry will therefore be official, with two prototypes. We also want to transfer the drivers requisitioned to the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring. We are very interested in selling cars to private teams and are in talks with several of them. The SCG 007 will not be sold at an exorbitant price, around $2 million. »

The SCG 007 will be equipped with a 6 hp twin-turbo V600 combined with a hybrid system. The first tests are expected in the first quarter of 2020.
