Greaves trains his crew for Silverstone

Greaves Motorsport was absent from the tests for the WEC made this week at Paul Ricard, but the British team is preparing to compete in the 6 Hours of Silverstone on April 14. After taking fifth place in the LMP2 Championship last year, the team defending its colors with the Zytek Z11SN will have the difficult task of aiming for the forefront in a particularly strong peloton. Champion ELMS in 2011 and triple category winner at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Tom Kimber-Smith will play his third season with Greaves this year.

The Briton will compete alongside two Americans who already have endurance experience. Chris Dyson, the Dyson Racing driver who won the ALMS Championship in 2011, will join the Greaves Motorsport Zytek crew. His compatriot Michael Marsal will complete the crew, already having a Grand-Am program on a BMW M3 entered by Turner Motorsport. The 24-year-old Texan discovered driving in LMP1 while defending the colors of Dyson Racing last year.

“This year has been the worst in terms of finding pilots and financial partners and this is a reflection of the state of the global economy”, recognizes Team Manager Jacob Greaves. “The team has already celebrated success at Sebring with a good podium place (LMP2 with Kimber Smith-Zugel-Lux). We had to juggle our crew as some pilots had other commitments. »
