Big season for Bourdais

The least we can say is that Sébastien Bourdais will have a rather busy year in 2009, since he will participate in both the World Championship of Formula 1, with Toro Rosso, and on the program Endurance de Peugeot Sport. The latter was recently revealed by Olivier Quesnel. Reduced, it will include the 12 Hours of Sebring in ALMS, the 1000 Km of Spa in LMS and to finish the main objective, the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Subsequently, entry in one or the other category against the Audi remains possible, depending on the evolution of the situation during the year and the result of the 24 Hours.

Sébastien will therefore begin his season at Sebring on March 21, and will compete in the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne the following week. Same scenario in June for the Frenchman, with the Turkish Grand Prix on the 7th, the 24 Hours of Le Mans on the 14th and the British Grand Prix on the 21st.

However, he thinks he can easily manage the situation, since he had already gotten into the habit of racing in several disciplines when he was still in the United States. He had actually already won the Champ Car championship and endurance races at the time.

?Until Le Mans, I would be very busy, but it?s far from being unmanageable. I've had worse in the past. », explained the Manceau.

Bourdais has high hopes this season and logically wants to obtain good results in both categories: “For any driver, F1 is the pinnacle of Motorsport, its highest point. So I hope to have a good season in Formula 1, which would offer me good opportunities for the future, but I would also like to win at Le Mans and realize one of my childhood dreams. »

“The new STR4 seems well balanced. I hope to have a bit more luck this time and have a good feeling in the car, that's all I can say. Regarding Le Mans with Peugeot, our objective is clear. We know that experience is important to be able to hope to win this race and, this year, this is the third participation of the 908 in the 24 Hours. Thanks to a car which, despite the changes in regulations, is reliable and efficient, we think we have every chance against Audi. But anything can happen…”
