Sébastien Buemi leads the race at Spa in the No. 5 Toyota while Porsche led the race before the stops.

H+1: the No. 5 Toyota in the lead at Spa

La Porsche 919 Hybrid n°1 Brendon Hartley held the lead at Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium) before the pit stops. The New Zealander had created a lead of around twelve seconds over his competitors. The No. 2 sister car driven by Marc Lieb fell from second to sixth place after encountering problems with the energy recovery system and already finds itself one lap behind the leaders.

La Toyota TS050 Hybrid Sébastien Buemi took the advantage during the pit stops and came out with a dozen seconds ahead of the Porsche n°1 now driven by Timo Bernhard after a fairly long stop by the leading 919 Hybrid. The German is now ahead of the Audi R18s of Lucas di Grassi and Benoît Tréluyer, 13 seconds behind the new leader.

The second Japanese car Mike conway lost several positions following an error by the Briton who hit the BR01-Nissan of SMP Racing at the Bus Stop. The stewards penalized the No. 6 Toyota with a drive through.

René Rast retains the lead in LMP2 at the wheel of the G-Drive Racing Oreca 05-Nissan which is ahead of the #44 Manor driven by Will Stevens and theAlpine A460 n°36 of Nicolas lapierre.

AF Corse dominates the GTE Pro with the Ferrari 458 No. 51 by Gianmaria Bruni which is just a few seconds ahead of Sam Bird's sister car. The No. 66 Ford GT of Olivier Pla completes the top three ahead of the Aston Martin Vantage, but the No. 67 of Marino Franchitti was involved in several collisions. Pedro Lamy leads GTE Am in the #98 Vantage.
