The #8 Toyota of Sébastien Buemi encountered a mechanical problem before the start of the 6 Hours of the Nürburgring. The TS050 Hybrid is 5 laps behind the leaders.

The fight for the title may have reached a new turning point before the start of the 6 Hours of Nürbrurgrong (Germany). There Toyota n ° 8 of Sébastien Buemi returned to the pits slowly during the formation lap due to a fuel pump problem and left 5 laps behind the leaders.

Toyota Gazoo Racing keeps the lead with the No. 7 of José-Maria Lopez who replaced Kamui Kobayashi, the Japanese LMP1 being chased by the Porsche 919 Hybrid. André Lotterer gave way to Neel Jani in the No. 919 1 Hybrid who briefly took second place just ahead Brendon Hartley who replaced Timo Bernhard on the No. 2. The New Zealander regained the advantage over the sister car a few laps after the first stops.

The Vaillante Rebellion immediately took control of the LMP2 with Bruno Senna in the lead in the #31. Starting from pole, Oliver Jarvis took second place in the No. 38 of Jackie Chan DC Racing against the No. 13 of Mathias Beche. Vitaly Petrov is in 4th place in the #25 of CEFC Manor TRS Racing ahead of the #37 of Jackie Chan DC Racing of Alex Brundle.

The battle for the lead of the GTE Pro offered a very good duel between Marco Sorensen on theaston martin n°95 and Frédéric Makowiecki in the n°91 Porsche. The Frenchman took the lead shortly before the start of the second hour. Olivier Pla completes the leading trio in the No. 66 Ford GT, preceding the Ferrari AF Corse n°51 by James Calado. The #911 92 RSR started from pole entrusted to Michael Christensen and slipped to 5th position. The #71 Ferrari of Davide Rigon was two laps behind following a gearbox problem. Pedro Lamy is at the helm of GTE Am in the #98 Vantage.
