H+2: Peugeot n°2 keeps the advantage

Franck Montagny and Pedro Lamy are only separated by a narrow margin but the French driver keeps the lead at the start of the third hour.

H+2: Peugeot n°2 keeps the advantage

Franck Montagny (Peugeot 908 HDi FAP n°2), which took the lead in the race thanks to the first refuelings, is still the leader of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The former pilot of F1 maintained its advantage during the second hour of the race, strengthening it by a few tenths thanks to an effective second refueling. Montagny leaves for a third stint, like most of the drivers on the grid. He is ahead of Lamy, Gené, Stone, McNish. The latter is still at 1?20?? from the race lead and will have to hope for another reversal of the situation to return to the front.

From the start, the GT2 category has been dominated by Corvette. The number 64, currently with Oliver Gavin at the wheel, dominates the proceedings, ahead of the sister car driven since 15 p.m. by Jan Magnussen. Well recovered after starting from the back of the grid, Jaime Melo aboard the Ferrari Risi is third ahead of the F430 AF Corse on which Toni Vilander took over from Jean Alesi. Fifth, the 997 Felbermayr proton n°77 is the first Porsche.

The GT1 category is dominated by the No. 60 Ford GT Matech of Thomas Mutsch. Julien Jousse and Peter Kox, respectively in the Corvette Luc Alphand Aventures n°73 and the?Aston Martin Young Driver, complete the top three.

Finally, in LMP2, the two HPD ARC.01cs are in the lead, with that of Strakka Racing ahead of that of Highcroft Racing. Olivier Pla, aboard the Ginetta-Zytek of Quifel ASM is third.
