H+20: Porsche No. 2 has a response

Marc Lieb made up for lost time at the wheel of the #2 Porsche against the two Toyotas. Nothing is decided four hours from the finish.

Despite the change in strategy Toyota, Porsche No. 2 driven by Marc Lieb still manages to move into the lead by matching the No. 050 TS5 Hybrid of Anthony Davidson by quadrupling the stints of its tires. The two leading LMP1s are currently fighting wheel to wheel, the Briton having just regained the advantage on the track as the start of the 21st hour of the race approaches. No. 6 of Kamui Kobayashi is slightly behind, moving more than ten seconds behind the leading duo.

THEAlpine #36 remains in the lead of LMP2 with Gustavo Menezes at the wheel. G-Drive Racing remains in ambush with the No. 26 of René Rast who does not intend to give up so easily. The BR01 n°37 of SMP Racing and the Gibson 015S of Strakka Racing continue to exchange third position.

Ford took control of the race in GTE Pro. Joey Hand overtook Matteo Malucelli on track to hoist the #68 ahead of the #82 Risi Competizione Ferrari now entrusted to Toni Vilander. The Italian is seven seconds behind the American. The GTE Am, on the other hand, has stabilized with the Ferrari of the Team Corsa still in first place.
