Anthony Davidson gave way to Kazuki Nakajima driving the Toyota n°5 just over two hours from the finish of the 84th edition at Le Mans. The leading TS050 Hybrid is half a minute ahead of the Porsche n°2 of Neel Jani and cannot afford any mistakes to achieve a first success in Sarthe for the Japanese manufacturer.
The No. 6 Toyota now entrusted to Stéphane Sarrazin will no longer be able to win on a regular basis. The LMP1 lost three laps in the garage following Kamui Kobayashi which could have damaged certain elements. The crew maintains a good lead over the Audi R18s.
THEAlpine No. 36 remains on course in the LMP2 category, with the No. 26 Oreca of G-Drive Racing almost a lap behind Stéphane Richelmi. The #01 SMP BR37 of Vicktor Shaytar continues to hold on to third position ahead of the Strakka Racing Gibson 015S of Danny Watts and the #05 Eurasia Oreca 33 driven by Tristan Gommendy.
The #82 Ferrari of Risi Competizione is not giving up its hopes of victory in GTE Pro, but Giancarlo Fisichella is still more than half a minute behind the #68 Ford GT of Dirk Müller. The Italian maintains the advantage over the Fords of Scott Dixon and Olivier Pla. The #62 Ferrari Team Corsa still remains firmly attached to first place in GTE Am.
