The Audis consolidate their lead at the halfway point of the 6 Hours of Bahrain against the #1 Porsche and the Toyotas. It is now number 8 which leads the race.

H+3: Audis take off

At the halfway point of the 6 Hours of Bahrain, Audi is still in control. The No. 8 Audi of Lucas di Grassi regained the lead of the race with a lead of around ten seconds over the No. 7 sister car of Benoît Tréluyer. The manufacturer at the Rings seems well on his way to aiming for a double for his last event in WEC.

If the Porsche n°1 of Timo Bernhard still occupies 3rd place, the 919 Hybrid is now around 50 seconds from the lead of the race, preceding the Toyota by Anthony Davidson and Kamui Kobayashi. The No. 2 Porsche of Marc Lieb completes the top six after its problems at the start of the race.

The fight for first place continues in LMP2. L'Alpine n ° 36 of Nicolas lapierre regained the lead of the category by ten seconds ahead of the Ligier JS P2 n°31 ESM of Ryan Dalziel, while that of the RGR Sport by Morand of Ricardo Gonzalez completes the leading trio by ahead of the Oreca 05 n °44 from Manor led by Richard Bradley.

The Aston Martin were leading the GTE Pro, but the No. 97 Vantage of Darren Turner who was leading lost a wheel, causing the first interruption of the race with a Full Course Yellow. Nicki Thiim's sister car was back in 2nd place, six seconds behind first place in the category. There Ferrari #51 of Gianmaria Bruni slipped to 3rd place in front of the #67 Ford GT of Harry Tincknell.

In GTE Am, the Porsches took the advantage with the Abu Dhabi Proton Racing 911 RSR driven by David Heinemeier-Hansson taking the lead with a good lead over the #78 KCMG driven by Christian Ried. The Larbre Compétition Corvette driven by Pierre Ragues occupies 3rd place in the category ahead of the No. 83 Ferrari of Rui Aguas. The AF Corse crew sees the title getting closer, the No. 98 Aston Martin of Paul Dalla Lana suffering from mechanical problems at the start of the 4th hour of the race.
