H+4: Alpine takes the advantage, scare for Toyota

On a bien cru voir un sacré retournement de situation aux 6 Heures de Monza, avec l’arrêt en piste de la Toyota GR010 n°7 of Kamui Kobayashi a few minutes ago. The Japanese, then a solid leader, stopped his Hypercar as he approached the Ascari Variant for several seconds, before resetting his mount and setting off again.

In the meantime, the Glickenhaus 007 n°709 of Romain Dumas had taken the lead... for a time only, since the Frenchman was forced to enter the pits, the 007 being pushed into the box.

Enough to give back the lead of the race to Kamui Kobayashi, who at this moment has a 33″ lead over theAlpine A480 n°36 of Nicolas lapierre. But the leading car finally stopped immediately after a puncture, leaving Lapierre in the lead with a 45″ lead over the #7 Toyota.

Behind the Glickenhaus #709, which remains 3rd in the category standings, the Toyota GR10 #8 remains 4th in Hypercar, but was once again pushed into its box.

As for the Glickenhaus n°708, slowed down by a spark plug problem at the start of the race, its definitive retirement was declared following a gearbox problem.

Unfortunately we had to retire car 708 with a gearbox problem. I started and had spark plugs problems which were fixed and pace was looking good. 709 in restraint for P2 @Glickenhaus

In LM P2, United Autosports is at the forefront with the No. 07 Oreca 22, and in third place overall. Next follows the No. 31 of Team WRT, currently entrusted to Fabio Scherer. Then third in LM P2, the No. 07 Oreca 38 – Jota de Davidson – Felix da Costa – Gonzalez, leader of the standings before this race, was forced to return to its pit and will obviously not leave.

Porsche et Kévin Estre restent en tête en GTE Pro avec la 911 RSR n°92, devant les Ferrari n°51 by Alessandro Pier Guidi and n°52 by Miguel Molina. Alessio Rovera is still leader in GTE Am with the No. 488 Ferrari 83 – AF Corse.
