H+5: Audi towards a double to conclude

Audi is about to conclude its story in WEC with a double at the 6 Hours of Bahrain while the manufacturer at the Rings had not won since Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium) last May.

The Audi n°8 of Loïc duval remains in the lead with around 20 seconds ahead of the #7 sister car of Marcel Fässler. The R18s are almost a minute ahead of the Porsche n°1 of Timo Bernhard who still does not seem able to close the gap one hour from the checkered flag. The 919 Hybrid still precedes the Toyota with the TS050 Hybrid n°6 of Mike conway ahead of No. 5 Sébastien Buemi.

Despite a poor race for the #2 Porsche, only 6th following its puncture, Romain Dumas only has to secure 6th place to secure the Drivers' title with his teammates Neel Jani and Marc Lieb.

ESM maintains the lead in LMP2 with the #2 Ligier JS P31 of Christopher Cumming which still maintains a half-minute lead over theAlpine n°36 by Stéphane Richelmi. Filipe Albuquerque took 3rd place in the category in the RGR Sport by Morand Ligier JS P2, taking the advantage over the G-Drive Racing Oreca 05 driven by René Rast.

Nicki Thiim remains in the lead of GTE Pro on theAston Martin n°95 which still has a good lead over the Ferrari of AF Corse, the no.51 of Gianmaria Bruni occupying 2nd place ahead of the no.71 of Davide Rigon.

The 911 RSRs remain at the head of GTE Am with the No. 88 from Abu Dhabi Proton Racing of David Heinemeier-Hansson in the lead ahead of that of KCMG driven by Joël Camathias. The Larbre Competition Corvette returned to the garage following a mechanical problem.
