ILMC 2011: Larbre will drive Corvette

Larbre Compétition, after having shone with Saleen, among others, will drive Corvette and will represent the American brand next season in the GT category Endurance. Corvette Racing, which focuses on American racing and 24 Hours of Le Mans, thus joins forces with the French team to be its representative throughout the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup, a competition set up by the ACO, which includes seven races (including the 1000 Km of Silverstone, the 1000 Km of Spa and the 12 Hours of Sebring) and which revolves around the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

« The Larbre Compétition team has chosen to follow the ACO in the great international adventure of the ILMC, explains Jack Leconte, owner and manager of the Larbre team. I am proud that a new manufacturer trusts us, it is the greatest recognition of our know-how. »

In addition, Larbre Compétition has renewed its confidence in several of its drivers, by fielding Gabriele Gardel, Julien Canal and Patrick Bornhauser in all of the ILMC rounds. “ After a decade of French Championship, Patrick Bornhauser joins us on the international scene, in the company of Gabriele, who has been a pillar of the team for years (four titles obtained) and Julien Canal, who has proven all his skills in winning at Le Mans on his first participation », replies Jack Leconte.

From then on, Larbre is ready to face this new season which promises to be exciting. “ Michelin, Demeco, McDonald's Charmant Z and BSI have already joined us as partners in this ambitious project which will actually start this winter when we go to Sebring for intensive private tests on February 8 & 9 with the official American Pratt team. & Miller. The whole team will only return to Europe after the 12 Hours of Sebring, in mid-March, once they know the car perfectly. The Corvette C6 in GT2 version won the last ALMS race of the year, it is now a successful car and we have high hopes for it to achieve new successes. We will probably field two cars at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. »
