Test Day – Toyota a short lead ahead of Rebellion

The times for the morning of Test Day 24 Hours of Le Mans are not representative of the potential of the cars, the teams using these tests above all to collect data and train their drivers before the Le Mans event contested on June 16 and 17.

The Toyota TS050 Hybrid sont sans surprise aux avant-postes avec un meilleur chrono de 3’21’’468 crédité pour Fernando Alonso on the No. 8, even if it is about six seconds from the record set last year by Kamui Kobayashi.

The No. 7 Toyota follows at seven tenths with Mike conway, but Rebellion highlighted itself by placing its first R-One between the two hybrid LMP1s with the No. 3 falling three tenths behind thanks to Thomas Laurent. The BR1s of SMP Racing follow a handful of seconds ahead of the Enso CLM01/P1 of Bykolles Racing.

The only notable session interruption occurred shortly after midday following Marco Sorensen's exit from the track on theAston Martin No. 95 Vantage between Mulsanne and Indianapolis corners, an incident that occurred with the No. 217 SMP Racing Dallara P35 driven by Harrison Newey. The commissioners preferred to bring forward the mid-day break to repair the rail and hope to restart the tests at 13:30 p.m. instead of 14 p.m.
