Karl Wendlinger with Lotus at Silverstone

Karl Wendlinger will join the James Rossiter-Johnny Mowlen team to compete in the 6 Hours of Silverstone in the GTE Pro category at the wheel of the No. 65 Lotus Evora from the Jet Alliance team. The former Sauber driver had already distinguished himself with his national team by winning several FIA GT1 races.

The Austrian will only be able to count on his experience of the British circuit since he will discover the car this week. “Above all, I am happy to finally be back behind the wheel of a racing car, and particularly within the team with which I obtained good results for more than three seasons in the FIA GT1 Championship. I have no experience with the Lotus, but I will try to adapt to it quickly during the test sessions. »

Lukas Lichtner-Hoyer, the owner of the Austrian team, hopes to benefit from Karl Wendlinger's experience with a car that performs better than in previous events. “I am very happy to have Karl on the team”, assures the director. “He will definitely be able to help us with his experience. I hope we will be more competitive and reliable on Lotus soil with all these new developments. »
