Kobayashi a “little disappointed” despite pole at Le Mans

If he came out of the Hyperpole with the best time in LM P1 this Friday, Kamui Kobayashi was not fulfilled. Determined to beat his 2017 qualifying record, the holder Toyota ultimately failed in his attempt.

" VS'is my third pole position but, to be honest, I'm a little disappointed because I didn't manage to beat my 2017 record, regretted the driver of the number 7 then improving on his time but unfortunately stopped in his tracks by traffic.

The track conditions were very good for this Hyperpole. We were more focused on performance and less on traffic management. In these conditions, this session is a great opportunity for the drivers. The team did a superb job ».

Close to the coronation last year, the Japanese hopes to climb to the top of the podium this year but distrust is the watchword a few hours before the big start.

"I 'I have complete confidence in the car. Last year we came close to success. With my teammates, we are therefore hungry for victory. We are always very fast here but we haven't won yet.

We usually say that the winners of the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps will be those of 24 Hours of Le Mans. I think this year it will be different. The 24 Hours of Le Mans is always a special race. It's always important to give your best. I believe in my team and my teammates ».
