G-Drive Racing and TDS Racing appeal reviewed September 18

The final result of the LM P2 category at 24 Hours of Le Mans 2018 will settle before the FIA International Court of Appeal on Tuesday September 18 in Paris. This unusual setting, to say the least, is the consequence of the exclusion of the Oreca 07-Gibson from G-Drive Racing, initially the winner last June. but removed from first place after technical inspection.

A few hours after arrival, the delegates of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) noticed that the fuel restrictor did not comply with the regulations because of an additional part, even though this element was not indicated in the prototype plans. So, Jean-Eric Vergne, Andrea Pizzitola and Roman Rusinov lost the benefit of their success.

The same infraction and the same result affected the Oreca 07 of TDS Racing, driven by Loïc duval, François Perrodo and Mathieu Vaxivière, who finished the Sarthe event in second place in LM P2. The two teams having appealed these exclusions, the file will be studied on Tuesday September 18, exactly three months after the test was held.

If the double exclusion is confirmed, then victory should go to theAlpine A470 – Signatech Alpine by Thiriet – Stone - negrao, the podium potentially being completed by the Oreca 07 of Graff – SO24 of Gommendy – Hirschi – Capillaire and the Ligier JS P217 – United Autosports of Montoya – de Sadeleer – Owen
