Porsche's tribute to Ferdinand Piëch

Upon arriving within the brand Porsche in April 1963, Ferdinand Piëch, grandson of Ferdinand Porsche, probably had no idea of ​​his future impact on the history of the Weissach firm.

At the heart of the German firm's technical department, the engineer is working on the development of an engine block that will make cars bearing the Porsche logo famous, the flat six-cylinder.

A success which will be followed some time later by the no less famous Porsche 917, which will offer its letters of nobility to the brand in Endurance, and more particularly to 24 Hours of Le Mans with two successes in 1970 and 1971.

An indelible mark left by Professor Ferdinand Piëch, who died last weekend at the age of 82 and to whom Porsche pays a vibrant tribute this Tuesday.

Piëch then offered his talent to Audi, with the development of Quattro technology, also victorious in motorsport, in rally this time, in the heart of the Group 4 and Group B era of the 80s.
