The Balance of Performance evolves before the Nürburgring

After the 24 Hours of Le Mans, dominated in GTE Pro by Aston Martin, the World ChampionshipEndurance will resume its rights in two weeks in Germany for the 6 Hours of the Nürburgring. The opportunity for an evolution of the Balance of Performance in GTE Pro and GTE Am.

Compared to the Spa event last May in the premier GT category (Le Mans being considered separately for the BoP), the Fords will be penalized by 20 kg, their total mass increasing from 1253 to 1273 kg. Reduction in mass on the other hand for the Aston Martin Vantage, which will lose 20 kg, reaching 1188 kg on the scale. The Vantage also sees its flange go from 29,6 to 29,7 mm.

The other adjustment concerns the Vantage in GTE Am, with the flange going from 29,2 to 29 mm. Note that the BoP in GTE Pro is now established automatically from the Nürburgring, with the application of formulas based on the data measured during each race, a new feature announced for this 2017 season.
