Pietro Fittipaldi suffered leg fractures following his crash in the Raidillon during qualifying for the 6 Hours of Spa.

The Dragonspeed driver was rushed to hospital, but the FIA ​​has since released a statement giving reassuring news on the World Series Formula champion Renault 3.5 Series.

“Pietro Fittipaldi is well and his condition is stable, indicated the FIA. He had surgery last night for the fractures in both his legs and the operation went well. He remains under surveillance at the Citadel Hospital of Liège. »

“The left leg which presented a complex fracture was able to be repaired with satisfaction. Pietro was fully conscious when he left the operating room and was able to describe what had happened to him. At 10:30 a.m., he left the intensive care unit. »

Pietro Fittipaldi was scheduled to take part in the Indy 500 on May 27 for Dale Coyne Racing.
