The provisional list for the 2017 WEC season

The World ChampionshipEndurance se transformera en duel cette année avec le retrait d’Audi Sport. Les deux Porsche 919 Hybrid de Jani-Lotterer-Tandy et Bamber-Bernhard-Hartley affronteront les deux Toyota TS050 Hybrid Buemi-Davidson-Nakajima and Conway-Kobayashi-Lopez, while a 3rd Japanese LMP1 will be entered in the 6h of Spa and the 24h of Le Mans.

ByKolles Racing will be the only private team entered in LMP1 with its CLM01/P1, with Robert Kubica and Oliver Webb at the helm, following Rebellion Racing's entry in LMP2.

The second category of prototypes will be monopolized by the Oreca 07. Vaillante Rebellion will enter two models for Beche-Heinemeier Hansson-Piquet Jr and Canal-Cheers-Senna. G-Drive Racing will enter Roman Rusinov and Pierre Thiriet on another model, TDS Racing will be with Emmanuel Collard, François Perrodo and Matthieu Vaxivière. Alpine will hire two models with Stéphane Richelmi and Nicolas lapierre as the first confirmed pilots. Manor will add two models with Tor Graves and Roberto Gonzalez.

On the other hand, RGR Sport will not participate in the WEC This year. After finishing LMP2 vice-champion behind Signatech-Alpine with the Ligier JS P2 of Gonzalez-Albuquerque-Senna, the Mexican structure withdrew from the World Endurance Championship due to current economic pressures in Mexico following the presidential elections in the USA.

On the GTE Pro side, AF Corse will keep two Ferrari 488 GTE, the first being entrusted to Bird-Rigon and the second to James Calado, while Porsche will field its two new 911 RSRs with Makowiecki-Lietz and Christensen on the second car. Chip Ganassi Racing will keep two Ford GTs with Mücke-Pla-Johnson and Priaulx-Tincknell. THE Aston Martin will still be two in number with Sorensen-Thiim and Turner-Adam. On the other hand, Corvette will be largely absent since Larbre Compétition is no longer on the list of WEC entries.

In GTE Am, Le Proton Compétition will enter a 911 RSR with Christian Ried. Clearwater Racing will field a Ferrari for Griffin-Sun-Sawa while AF Corse will field Castellacci-Flohr in its F488 GTE. Aston Martin will be with a Vantage while Gulf Racing has confirmed Michael Wainwright in a Porsche.
