As expected, some names will be missing for the 6 Hours of Fuji. Between double programs or a simple desire not to go to the other side of the globe, there will only be 36 crews entered in the Japanese event. As announced, Glickenhaus will not make the trip with its Hypercar just like ARC Bratislava in LMP2.
If there is a missing competitor in the Hypercar category at the 6 Hours of Fuji, Peugeot will be there. While the idea had crossed the minds of the managers to mix the crews after the 6 Hours of Monza, it is ultimately the same trio that we will find in the two vehicles. On one side Paul Di Resta, Mikkel Jensen, and Jean-Eric Vergne in the No. 93. On the other, Loic Duva, Gustavo Menezes and James Rossiter. The Briton will be present with the lion brand even though his full calendar has still not been revealed.
DTM or Fuji, the clash of dates
Because of the 6th inning of DTM, three drivers will not start at Fuji. Indeed, in addition to Nick Cassidy and René Rast, Nico Mueller also prefers to concentrate on the race at Spa-Francorchamps. For the moment, only one replacement has been made official. It is Davide Rigon in place of the New Zealander at AF Corse. At WRT, Dries Vanthoor, who knows the house well to represent it in GT World Challenge, appears to be the ideal solution, he who has already driven in LM P2 with WRT this season during the 24 Hours of Le Mans. As for Vector Sport, Sébastien's future teammate Bourdais will be announced next week.
In the LMGTE Pro category, Richard Lietz returns with Porsche. After missing the 6 Hours of Monza due to Covid-19, the Austrian will be at the start of the 6 Hours of Fuji. This return has the consequence of placing Frédéric Makowiecki on the sidelines after having made a replacement at short notice in Italy.
