The transition to LM P2 was already effective for 2017 in the Rebellion Racing clan since last October. “The pace of these new LM P2s should be significantly faster than the current cars and with a high level of competition between teams and cars, the challenge is very attractive for Rebellion Racing. » admitted Team Principal Bart Hayden.
It remained to be seen with what chassis the structure would evolve. As we already indicated in issue 2085 of AUTOhebdo last October, and building on a long relationship with Oreca, which notably developed the R-One LM P1, Rebellion Racing logically decided to choose the new Oreca 07 for its 2017 program which, however, remains to be defined. Two chassis have been ordered.
The new prototypes meeting the 2017 regulations will be able to evolve in particular WEC or IMSA. Both series could be on the menu for Rebellion, which could favor the NAEC rounds in IMSA.
