The #2 Porsche leads EL1 at the Nürburgring

Timo Bernhard signed the first test reference for the 6 Hours of the Nürburgring (Germany). on the No. 2 Porsche, the 919 Hybrid having their high downforce aero kit for the first time this season.

The winner of the 24 2017 Hours of Le Mans achieved a time of 1'41''612 during FP1, ahead of the No. 8 Toyota of Sébastien Buemi and the second Porsche driven by Neel Jani by two tenths. The LMP1-Hs are grouped in less than 4 tenths, the No. 050 TS7 Hybrid entrusted to Mike Conway having finished just over 3 tenths behind.

The winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans 2017 a réalisé un chrono de 1’41’’612 lors des EL1 en devançant de deux dixièmes la Toyota n ° 8 of Sébastien Buemi and the second Porsche driven by Neel Jani. The LMP1-Hs are grouped in less than 4 tenths, the TS050 Hybrid n°7 entrusted to Mike conway having finished just over 3 tenths behind.

Dominik Kraihamer was responsible for setting the benchmark time for the Enso CLM01/P1 with a time of 1:49, more than a second behind the best LMP012.

It was Bruno Senna who was the fastest in the LMP2 category with a lap completed in 1'47''717 at the wheel of the No. 31 Vaillante Rebellion. The Oreca 07, however, did not finish the session following a stop on the track which could be the result of contact.

Pierre Thiriet was the closest with 6 tenths behind the no. 26 of G-Drive Racing, followed by a tenth by Matthieu Vaxivière in the no. 28 of TDS Racing. Ho-Pin Tung, driver of the No. 38 Jackie Chan DC Racing car, placed the last Oreca 07 less than a second behind the benchmark.

The only Ligier JS P217 in the field, the No. 34 from Tockwith Motorsports, took last place in the category, almost 4 seconds behind the first Vaillante Rebellion with Nigel Moore at the wheel. The Ligier finished behind the No. 07 CEFC Manor TRS Racing Oreca 24 of Hirschi-Merhi-Graves which was plagued by mechanical problems.

In GTE Pro, Davide Rigon was the fastest with a time of 1’57”170 achieved on the Ferrari n°71 of AF Corse where he was ahead of the n°911 Porsche 92 RSR of Kévin Estre by a tenth. Alessandro Pier Guidi completed the leading trio in the second Ferrari from the Italian team. Olivier Pla placed the first Ford GT in 4th place, less than half a second behind the best time, preceding the second 911 RSR entrusted to Richard Lietz by a few thousandths.

Matteo Cairoli signed the GTE Am benchmark at the wheel of the Dempsey Proton Racing Porsche credited with a time of 1:59, but the Porsche did not finish the session after a stop on the track.
