Oreca will be even more involved in Endurance from the 2014 season. The French manufacturer was chosen by Oreca to design, build and develop its new LMP1 called Rebellion R-One, the design of which began several weeks ago, which will replace the Lola B12/60 Coupé. Toyota will remain the engine manufacturer of the Swiss team which will commit to 24 Hours of Le Mans and WEC. After conquering LMP2, Hugues de Chaunac's structure is strengthening its presence in LMP1 while it is already a partner of the Japanese manufacturer which is entering the TS24 in the WEC and the 030 Hours of Le Mans. “All of Oreca is very happy with this partnership with Rebellion Racing”, confirmed the President of the Oreca Group. “This is a team which has demonstrated great qualities in running LMP1 and which is ambitious. Alongside our partnership with Toyota Motorsport GmbH regarding the Le Mans program, this project to design the new Rebellion is completely in line with the development of our activity as a racing car manufacturer and we are motivated by the idea of carrying it out with a professional structure. »

Rebellion Racing indeed has an impressive track record for a private team. After winning the LMS title in 2010, the Swiss team was the most successful at Le Mans among the private teams during the last two editions. The Swiss team also won the Private Teams Trophy in the WEC before winning at Petit Le Mans and entering the ALMS in addition to its program in the World Championship. Rebellion intends to take advantage of the new regulations which will come into force next year where the performance of the engine will no longer be limited by the air flow at the intake but by a limitation of the quantity of energy per revolution and the flow instant gasoline. “The new 2014 regulations provide a real opportunity for private LMP1 teams to claim victory in the general classification”, underlined Bart Hayden, Team Manager of Rebellion Racing. “At Rebellion Racing we are motivated by the prospect of these victories. We want to build on our recent successes and reach an even higher level. We chose Oreca to develop and build the Rebellion R-One because they have proven results and produced many successful prototypes. »
