Nissan's 2015 season complete

After a more than disappointing performance at the 24 Hours of Le Mans last June, the only event on which the GT-R LM Nismo could be seen in the race, Nissan has therefore decided to put its program on hold for 2015. As AUTOhebdo already announced it to you on September 23 last in its n°2030, Nissan will be absent from the last events of the WEC and is aiming for a return in 2016.

“The team is working hard to resolve technical issues encountered at Le Mans in June and is in the midst of a comprehensive testing and development program to prepare the new car to face the tough competition encountered in LM P1. » states the press release.

If changes will still take place on the technical level, the organization chart of the team has also been disrupted since, as we clarified to you last week, the Mexican Michael Carcamo coming from Nissan Mexico, becomes the new Team Principal, a position previously held by Ben Bowlby, the technical director. “We recognize the challenge and we’ve added the resources and infrastructure behind the program to try to take it to the next level. » admits Carcamo.

The Nissan GT-R LM Nismo completed two days of testing last week at the Circuit of the Americas, with Harry Tincknell and Olivier Pla.
