It was a funny race that we attended at Spa-Francorchamps. After a lively start, the second event of the season WEC fut hâchée par de nombreuses interruptions, dues à la pluie et à divers abandons. Notamment celui de la Toyota n ° 8 of Sébastien Buemi. The Swiss regained control of the race shortly after the half-hour mark by getting rid of pole sitter Olivier Pla. The hybrid system of the Japanese prototype was at fault and the GR010 was evacuated after a long time, while rain arrived on the Belgian circuit.

The elements disrupted this race, interrupted by no less than three red flags. Robin Frijns was the master of this wet track for a long time, but the Dutchman could not maintain his frantic pace until the end against the Hypercars. The second Toyota still on the track, the No. 7 of Mike conway, Kamui Kobayashi and Jose Maria López thus moved to the forefront at the start of the fifth hour and maintained its advantage until the checkered flag. Nicolas lapierre, Matthieu Vaxiviere and Andre Negro took second position for Alpine.

Starting from pole position, the Glickenhaus no. 708 of Romain Dumas, Olivier Pla and Pipo Derani tumbled down the rankings at the end of the race, abandoning the podium in the general classification in favor of the no. 31 of Team WRT (Sean Gelael, Robin Frijns, René Rast). The Belgian team even scored a double at home with Realteam by WRT n°41 (Rui Andrade, Ferdinand Habsburg, Norman Nato). Jota n°38 (Roberto Gonzalez, Antonio Felix da Costa, William Stevens) completed the podium.

Final on suspense in LMGTE Pro
